ATTENTION!!! All Participating teams, who wish to participate

in GROUP M, have a look at the Image Processing Toolbox,

the Signal Processing Toolbox and the DSP System Toolbox in

MATLAB. You might find them helpful!!

ATTENTION!!

A) Participants from Group C are strongly recommended to use Microsoft Visual Studio as the coding environment.

B)Participants should bring their own laptops, chargers.

Are you a coding wiz? Algorithms and flowcharts are your cup of tea?

Algomaniac is just the platform for you. Put your coding skills to good

use for efficient computation and solution of complex problems.

Maximum team size: 2

When?

15th February, 9:00 am.

Groups: 2 Groups — Group C (Coding in C, participants from all 4 years), Group M (Coding in MATLAB, participants from all 4 years). We will contact the participants who register for the event and ask which group they want to opt for. They can choose to participate in any of the above groups. We have scrapped off the grouping according to Year of Study in this event.

Basic Rules and Guidelines

  • The problem will be given to the participants on the day of the event.

  • Maximum allowable team size: 2

  • Registration would be in a first come first served basis.

  • Maximum duration of the event: 4 hrs tentatively.

  • There are two categories for this event. Group C (Coding in C, participants from all 4 years), Group M (Coding in MATLAB, participants from all 4 years).

  • In each group, there will be 3 problems of 3 different difficulty levels. Each team will need to choose one problem of a particular level and work on it. The maximum points for the 3 problems will be different. So a team solving a problem of a harder level will have the advantage of scoring more points. The time for all the problems will be the same.

  • The participants are expected to arrive on the day of the event for registration and confirmation with college IDENTITY CARDS at the department, at the specified time.

  • Type of problem will be provided soon on the website.

  • Teams can implement any algorithm or any computation technique and basic engineering knowledge to solve the problem.

  • Alongside the code, the teams are required to submit the flowchart/algorithm employed.

  • Any programming language, computing tool or software from the list should be used:
    MATLAB
    C

  • Participants should bring their own laptops, chargers, software and anything else that they need to code in the software given above.

  • Nothing other than the problem statement and charging points for the laptops will be provided at the venue.

  • Various aspects of coding, computational efficiency and aesthetics will be considered for judgement. Top 2 teams from each Group will be awarded.

  • The judgement made by the panel of judges will be final.
